'Free Birds’ is an experimental short film blurring the line between dance theatre and dance-film, play, improvisation and elements of Afro-Mauritian choreography.

It explores the concept of performers being the ultimate embodiment of sensory ethnography (Pink, 2015) and the body as archive in its ability to store, reproduce and perform movement from an observation and engagement standpoint alone. (Lecoq, 2009).

Answering a simple question: what if humans were birds?  through a playful duet, the work invites the viewer to transcend imposed identity and embrace freedom in urban landscapes.
